2. Create or import documents. They are stored in your browser (IndexedDB).
3. Edit anytime—on a plane, in a cafe, anywhere. No WiFi required.
4. Export to Markdown, HTML, or PDF when you are back online (or stay offline and export locally).

Why use an offline Markdown editor?

Cloud editors require an internet connection. If you travel, work in low-connectivity areas, or simply prefer not to rely on the cloud, an offline editor keeps you productive. Lexon stores your documents locally and only loads external resources (fonts, KaTeX) when online. The core editor works fully offline.

Markdown is plain text, so your files are portable. You can convert DOCX to Markdown before a trip, edit offline, then export when you are back. No subscription, no sync conflicts.

Does the offline editor require an account?

No. Lexon works without signup. Your documents are stored in your browser.

Where are my documents stored?

In IndexedDB and localStorage on your device. They never leave your computer.

Will I lose my documents if I clear browser data?

Yes. Clearing site data removes documents. Export important files before clearing.

Can I use it on multiple devices?

Documents are per-device. Export and import files manually to move between devices.

What happens if I close the browser?

Documents auto-save. Reopen Lexon and they are still there.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Lexon is responsive and works on phones and tablets with offline support.
